A quick glance over the message board showed that the Watford Cruise was being organised only a week away. We decided we had to visit! And we're glad we did.
Myself and SJ headed down to the meeting point where the MK boys were supposed to be gathering, but no-one was there... had I got the wrong day or time???.. we decided to get down there and hope we could find the shopping carpark that had been mentioned. Our friend, Dot, had joined us with her Nissan Almera GTi so we were not all alone!.

The motorway down seemed pretty devoid of tuned cars, and I again started to wonder if I'd got the wrong day... but at last we reached Watford, some good guesswork had us heading towards Watford centre. As we sat at some traffic lights we looked everywhere for a Sainsburys carpark... "There's ASDA, so its got to be here somewhere" I commented... then Sj comments "isn't that a Sainsburys petrol station?" at this point I heard Dot shouting from the car behind..."Sainsburys!, sainsburys!, sainsbury!".. waving her arms about as if she'd completely lost it... but fortunately we know she did that years ago!... and there to our left was the very store!
We pulled into the car park, I was still a little unsure as to whether this was the right day, until we spotted a couple of tuned motors sitting, owners enjoying the sun, and watching the rozzers that were present.

Purple,
bulbous and throbbing is the Saxo!
As time past, the gathering grew... I lost count of the number of cars that turned up... but Saxo's seemed to be the car of the day!
Dot's
Almera GTI... Someone donate her some 35mm drop springs please!
The Police kindly wandered around video'ing everyone that they felt like... maybe they are going to sell us a copy soon... would be a cool tape to have!.. and one member of our group went over to the Feds and produced his video camera and filmed the Police!

Me, SJ and Dot had a walk around, and took loads of pics, as there were some serious peices of hardware to be seen. A sexy Peugeot 106 thats been featured in Max Power, I'm told, was there... very nice. The owner told me that it was all done for the looks, he'd put a K&N 57i on the 1.4i lump under the modified vented bonnet, as well as a more tasty exhaust... but if it was built for looks, it worked, it was gorgeous!.
Maxed
to perfection!
But a car that was jumped on by the feds almost the moment it arrived was a very very tasty purple/green pearlescent Corsa, with loud quad exhausts... very nice... but the feds had him leaving for an unknown reason... only to return later on.. good job or I'd have never got the good pics of it!.
"Now
thats what I call Magic" as some bald wazzok used to say...
Again mental quantities of bass was to be heard, this time in the form of a mental VW Golf, with no back seats, just speakers!. And big speakers they were...

"YOU
WOT?... SPEAK UP... PARDON?"
As time pressed on, more and more Police gathered. Our friends in the Helicopter appeared. It reached and hour or so later that the set-off time, I noticed this, coz the whole car park began to exit en-mass! So we made a mad dash back to my Saxo (yes, I know, another one!)... We didn't want to loose the convoy...

Its
cool, inside and out... oh yes!... even at night...
(see
Northampton/Milton Keynes cruise where its speakers glowed!)
It was a pretty cool sight, hundreds of cars exiting the car park, exhaust notes and bass to die for bellowed as we waited our turn, battles of "who's got the biggest horn" (and I don't mean genitalia) started to errupt.. then we were off...
Sorry,
my handbrake got stuck as I tried to accelerate away... really!
But the strange thing was that so many cars could just vanish off in all directions... these guys had the whole cruise thing sussed... the feds had no idea where things were heading!... trouble was nor did we!... but somehow we managed to tag along behind an RS Turbo... and he lead us to the the place!...
It was
big, loud and blue... The guy was proud of his Escort, and why not?
The group rejoined once again... a couple of burnouts announced that the Police had not found us yet!.. and again a great atmos erupted as people mingled and looked at each others throbbing beasts... (ooooeeeer missus!)

It wasn't long before our friends in Blue turned up to keep an eye on things... but soon after the whole car park erupted into the sound of exhausts blurting into life again.... "bugger!" another dash back to the car... some one ran past and shouted a location... we started on our way... Eddie Stobart tried its best to stop us exiting... but we were too determined..
Colour
co-ordinated Opel.... nice!....
Again we were off driving god knows where trying to follow people... it was touch and go at times, as we followed someone else who seemed to have no idea where they were going... after a couple of laps of the same roundabout we got to the next spot!... but this lasted about twenty minutes before we were off again!... this time we were given a location described as "just over the road"... bollocks was it!...
MOTHER!...
hand me some more undies!
We travelled for about half an hour, chasing each others tails... stopping at lights, trying to drive sensibly past the feds and zooming off again... it was cool though.. and funny too, to arrive at some traffic lights and see Dot in her Almera in a completely different part of the road system going almost the other way!... tee hee!...
Flat
Eric disliked all the media attention.
Its
yellow.... its a Citroen.... Saxo of course!! muchly hot, my friends!
By now only the hardcore were remaining.. the car park we stopped finally in, had its lights turned off just after our arrival... just not fair.. it had been perfect light to view motors in... a groan went up as the lights faded. A few phone calls seemed to have everyone else arriving... we were probably down to only about a tenth of the earlier collection... but it meant a chance to investigate cars we hadn't yet seen... and breasts, did I forget to mention those???? hmmmmmm....
and a mentally loud V6 Capri.. I know, you reckon Capris have had their day, but this was loud and quick... and nicely sorted... as the underbonnet pic shows!... If a Capri is treated right, they can go on for a bit longer yet in my opinion!... and cheers for popping the bonnet!...
As smooth
as a young ladies pert behind.... don't you just want to touch it?
Time was now pretty late... but the cruise was off once more... we decided it was time to part company... we know there were those hardcore crew that carried on long after we left... and I'm sure it was just as good!
The batmobile didn't
take kindly to the boil wash cycle... (This Corsa looks cool indeed!)
Cheers
Watford for the finest cruise we've visited yet! Keep up the good work!
